Turn off Firewall

  • Your phone and PC are connected to the same network, but you still see the "Connection not established" message? It looks like Windows Defender Firewall is blocking network access for your phone. Please try this: open Windows Firewall settings, Private Network, and turn off the Firewall, then restart Stepl. Or add Stepl to the Firewall exclusion list (this is only possible if Stepl is visible in the list). 🚴🏂🤸

    To turn Windows Firewall off, Select Start, then open Settings. Select Security:

    Select Windows Security > Firewall & network protection.

    Under Microsoft Defender Firewall, switch the setting to Off. 🎮👍

    If that doesn't help, try selecting a different network profile: Public network or Domain network.

    Instead of turning the firewall off, you can allow Stepl through the firewall, by adding the app to the firewall exclusion list, if possible (this is only possible if Stepl is visible in the list). 🚴🏂🤸
